Obituary for William Wayne Wojasinski

William Wayne Wojasinski, 68, of Sadieville, KY, passed away Tuesday afternoon the 11th of July at UK Albert B. Chandler hospital after a brief but intense battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Winamac, IN in April 1949 to Joseph and Lorraine Wojasinski, Bill was the oldest of 3 boys having 2 brothers, Stanley and Lindy. After Graduating from South Houston High School in 1967, Bill enlisted in the US Navy, earning his SCUBA and Submariner qualifications while serving for over 10 years as a member of the US Navy's nuclear submarine fleet. He served in Hawaii, Washington, Virginia and Connecticut.

Upon completion of his service obligations to the US Navy, Bill attended the University of Houston obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree earning a commission as a second Lieutenant in the US Army as a condition of his participation in the ROTC program. Bill entered the Army in the research and development field of advanced laser weaponry and was subsequently selected for flight school where he earned his US Army Aviator Qualification wings and went on to fly the UH-1 Huey helicopter. After being stationed in Panama, Alabama and Virginia, Bill retired from active duty with 20 years of honorable service settling down in the beautiful hills of Kentucky. It was here that he found his true love, Vickie, and his passion, working with the Patriot Guard Riders and Rolling Thunder Kentucky Chapter 5. Bill was an avid Tai Chi Chuan practitioner and teacher of the Yang family style art form, providing seminars and instruction throughout Kentucky. He is survived by his wife Vickie, son Sean, daughter Angela, daughter Brandi, step daughter Erin and 9 grandchildren, Matthew, Cody, Jacob, Tori, Madyson, Mackenzie Cody Levesque, Kyle Levesque and his little wingman Jayden.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, 17 July, at the Southland Christian Church in Nicholsville, KY at 12:30pm. Viewing will begin at 10:30am. Burial services with full military honors will take place at the Camp Nelson Military Cemetery at 1:30pm.
