Obituary for Catherine Kendall Markesbery

Catherine Kendall Markesbery, 52, of Lexington, died Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her home after a long battle with depression. She was preceded in death by her father Dr. William Markesbery, and is survived by her mother, Barbara, her sister Dr. Susanne Arnold (Michael), nephews John and Henry, and her twin Allison Robbins (John), nephew Will and niece Malia, a wonderful extended family, as well as a special friend, Bill Green. Kendall was a bright spirit with a brilliant sense of humor and a huge, sensitive heart; she excelled in social interactions, making people feel comfortable in her presence. She was highly intelligent, received an MBA from UK and was a successful political campaigner, sales and PR professional. She would want all people with depression, alcoholism or drug addiction to get the help they need. To that end, the family asks that you honor her memory by doing something kind for someone in need or by sending donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or Alcoholics Anonymous World Service. Kendall wanted everyone to know how much she loved them; her family is grateful for all who showed her kindness and support during her life. A private burial and a public memorial service will be planned in the future. Care Cremation and Funeral Service are entrusted with final care.
